This fact helps to explain the fact that in many republics of the national movements of non-titular nations were not anti-Russian orientation, and started as a conflict of national minorities against the titular nations: Armenians against Azerbaijanis in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Abkhazians and Ossetians against Georgians, etc.
